BMW NEW 3 SERIES


BMW raising the curtain for new 3-series at 2012 Beijing Auto Show



Breaking covers at the 2012 Beijing International Motor show is the new BMW 3-series, custom-built just for the Chinese car market with a 110 mm longer wheelbase. The new 3-series will offer various engine options coupled with an eight speed automatic transmission as standard and also in the trim versions like ‘Luxury Line’ and ‘Modern Line’. The available engine options include 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine pumping out 185 PS of power, 2.8-liter turbo petrol engine generating 246 PS of power and 3.5-liter turbo petrol engine driving 307 PS of power. Based on the 3-series sedan, BMW is also premiering a full hybrid car – ActiveHybrid 3 and a standard sedan at the Beijing show.


Also gracing the BMW stands would be the 640i GranCoupe. Under the hood, powering the BMW GranCoupe are two very powerful petrol engines mated to the BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The two engine options are: 4-liter twin-turbo petrol motor and a 5-liter, V8 twin 650i GranCoupe generating massive power of 451 PS. A new and bettered BMW M6 is all set to make its way to the Beijing Motor Show 2012. M6 is powered by a V8, twin turbo engine that churns out an impressive power of 561 PS which is 10 percent more than the existing precursor. Coupled with the M dual-clutch automatic transmission, this car has recorded 4.2 seconds as 0-100 kmph time; the new BMW M6 also consumes 30 percent less fuel than its previous version. The new and improved M6 will be offered with Active M differential as standard and M-specific chassis and M carbon ceramic brakes as options.
