Audi Rolls Out New A8 in India

NEW DELHI–Audi AG Friday introduced a refreshed version of the A8 L luxury sedan in India as part of a plan to try and power past German rivals Daimler AG and BMW AG in the Southeast Asian country by 2015.

Audi will sell the new A8 L for 10.08 million rupees ($180,404) at showrooms in Mumbai, its India unit said.

The model will compete with BMW’s 7-series sedan and the S-class sedans sold by Daimler’s Mercedes-Benz brand in India.

Audi also sells the A4, S4, A6, A7 and A8 sedans, and sports cars RS5, TT Coupe and R8 in India.

The Volkswagen AG unit’s sales in July rose 98% in July to 680 vehicles.
