BMW aims double-digit growth this year
KUALA LUMPUR (June 29, 2012): BMW Group Malaysia, distributor of the BMW and MINI Cooper marquees in the country, is aiming for double-digit sales growth this year.
Outgoing president Geoffrey Briscoe said the sales growth would be driven by the introduction of new engines in latest models.
"Last year, the company sold 5,000 BMW cars, 300 Mini Cooper and 300 Motorrad (BMW motorbike).
"So far this year, we have sold 2,414 BMW cars, 140 MINI Coopers and 148 Motorrad vehicles," he told reporters after the launch of the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe here today.
Briscoe said the company aimed to sell at least 20 units of the 6 Series Gran Coupe this year.
"I'm confident the new model will further boost the company's sales and success in Malaysia," he added.
The 6 Series Gran Coupe, is the first four-door coupe equipped with BMW's latest TwinPower Turbo technology, luxurious style, spacious cabin and delivered a power output of 235kW/320 horse power.
It's six-cylinder three-litre engine consumed 7.8 litres per 100km.
Available in Black Sapphire, Vermillon Red, Havanna, Space Grey, Orion Silver, Deep Sea Blue and Mineral White, the model is priced at RM788,800. – Bernama
