Redesigned GL-Class unveiled by Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz formally unveiled its redesigned 2013 GL-Class sport utility vehicle Thursday at an elaborate ceremony featuring a former Miss Alabama, top Mercedes executives from Germany and a challenge to the company’s Alabama employees.
According to the Birmingham News, Markus Schaefer, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, said the new vehicle is more refined and lighter than its predecessor and is expected to push the company to the top of the luxury segment.
The 2013 GL-Class is longer, taller and wider than its predecessor, with new features that include the debut of standard collision prevention system and a direct-injection twin-turbo V-8 engine for the top-of-the-line model.
