Hyundai sets prices for new i30 Tourer

 

  Hyundai’s latest i30 Tourer will arrive in showrooms this weekend with prices starting from £16,195.

The estate version of the car follows the launch of the ‘New Generation’ i30 hatch in March.
Rear load space will be the main attraction of the Tourer and Hyundai claims figures to beat most of the car’s major rivals in the C segment and even some in the D segment.
With the car’s overall length measuring up 185mm longer than the hatchback luggage space increases by 150 litres with the seats up (to 528) and 326 litres with the seats down, to 1,642. There are also extra underfloor storage compartments.
The Tourer follows Hyundai’s latest ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ design language, which the car’s creators say makes it stand out from traditional and boxy estates.
Engine choices number three, a 119bhp petrol unit or the 1.6 CRDi diesel unit, in either 109bhp or 126bhp variants. Six-speed manual or automatic transmissions are on offer.
The manual diesel variants employ the brand’s Blue Drive eco technology – the smaller engine is 12 per cent more fuel efficient than its predecessor, returning 67.3mpg on the combined cycle. CO2 emissions drop too, by 11 per cent to 110g/km.
Four trim levels are available starting with Classic, which comes as standard with Bluetooth® connectivity and voice recognition, multi-function steering wheel and air conditioning.
Body coloured door handles and mirrors are also standard on the entry level trim along with LED daytime running lights – Hyundai saying that this is the only car in its segment to offer this feature across the entire range.
Active trim starts at £17,295 and adds alloy wheels, cruise control with speed limiter, rear parking sensors, electric rear windows and leather steering wheel and gear knob.
Style is luxury-themed with dual zone climate control, automatic headlights and front windscreen wipers, front parking sensors and electrically folding door mirrors. Prices for Style models start at £20,095.
The range-topping Style Nav model adds touchscreen navigation plus a rear view parking camera for a £1,000 premium over the Style trim, beginning at £21,095.
Hyundai Motor UK CEO Tony Whitehorn believes that the new i30 Tourer will help grow Hyundai’s presence in the C-segment. “The i30 Tourer is able to meet the demands of both retail and fleet customers as it offers space and versatility along with a range of clean and fuel efficient engines,” he says.
“Running costs are also substantially lower, not only compared with the outgoing i30 Estate, but with key competitors too. Owners benefit from improvements to fuel %%7%%economy and emissions plus VED and Benefit in Kind and some of the lowest insurance ratings in class.”
